Jesse Harms joined Neal on keys for the 1990 album The Earth, A Small Man, His Dog, and a Chicken, on which he wrote the tracks Live It Up and Love To Hate, as well as co-writing 4 more tracks with other members of the band.

After the subsequent tour, he then returned to a full-time career in songwriting, and has written several hit songs including Eddie Money's Walk On Water.
